Designed for mounting on the right side of vehicles, this LED side marker light from Horpol s MB-6000 serie provides both a rear marker light and a side marker light. With a rubber housing and polycarbonate lens, the product is suitable for use in a variety of weather conditions and applications within the 12-24 V voltage range. The side marker light comes in three directional colours: red, white and amber, ensuring visibility from different angles. The IP68 rating guarantees dust and water resistance for long-term exposure. In addition, the product complies with CE, ECE-R10, ECE-R7 and ECE-R91 directives, supporting its usability on public roads. ECE R48 — where every lamp on a vehicle must sit.

R48 is the master installation regulation. It defines which lamps are mandatory, which are optional, where they may be mounted, and how they must switch. Individual lamp regulations (R7 for position, R87 for DRL, R65 for beacons) certify the lamp itself. R48 certifies the vehicle on which the lamps are fitted.

R148 replaces and unifies the previous patchwork of lamp regulations (R6, R7, R23, R38, R77, R87, R91) into one consolidated standard for signalling lamps. It came into force for new vehicle type approvals in September 2023, with full mandatory application by 2027. What was once seven regulations covering direction indicators, position lamps, reversing lamps, parking lamps, end-outline markers, DRLs and side-marker lamps is now one document.
