Omschrijving

The ECCO ESG 400 R65 Ecco serie concerns an LED beacon designed for vehicles in a variety of safety and signalling applications. This DIN plug-in mounted version is suitable for use on 12-24 V electrical systems, thus fitting various vehicle types, including commercial vehicles and work vehicles. The housing and lens are made of impact-resistant polycarbonate for increased durability in intensive outdoor use. Thanks to the fully visible 360-degree light coverage, warning signals are issued all around the vehicle. The IP65 rating means the luminaire is dust-proof and resistant to water jets. The LED beacon complies with CE, ECE R10 and ECE R65 directives, ensuring electromagnetic compatibility and signal strength within European standards. ECE R65 — the rule behind every warning light.

ECE R65 is the European standard that determines whether a rotating or flashing beacon is road-legal. It defines luminous intensity, flash rate, colour and mechanical endurance. Without an R65 mark, a beacon is not allowed on a public road anywhere inside UNECE territory — and insurers routinely refuse claims on vehicles carrying non-approved warning lights.

R10 is the reason a cheap LED strip can make a truck's ABS throw faults. It regulates how much electrical noise a lamp is allowed to emit, and how much external interference it has to tolerate. Every lamp destined for a European road carrying a CE mark also needs an R10 stamp — the two are not the same.

ADR — lighting rules for dangerous-goods transport.

ADR is the European agreement governing the international carriage of dangerous goods by road. Annex B, Part 9 contains the electrical-installation rules that a lamp on an ADR-rated vehicle must meet. It is stricter than ordinary road-vehicle standards — a lamp fitted to a tanker carrying flammable liquid has to survive electrical and mechanical conditions an ordinary delivery truck never sees.
